How does Petwealth work?

Is Petwealth a replacement for my veterinarian?

No. Petwealth is designed to complement veterinary care, not replace it. Our insights can help identify potential concerns earlier and support more informed conversations with your veterinarian.

What makes Petwealth different from other pet health tests?

How often should I test my pet?

For most healthy pets, testing every 6–12 months helps establish a baseline and track changes over time. Pets with ongoing health concerns may benefit from more frequent monitoring.

Petwealth helps you better understand what your pet's sample can tell you today, giving you meaningful information to support conversations with your veterinarian and make informed decisions about your pet's care. Our reports translate complex laboratory findings into clear, easy-to-understand health insights. Understanding a few key concepts will help you get the most from your results.

Detected

A Detected result means the organism or health indicator was identified in your pet's sample.
A detected result does not automatically mean your pet has a disease or is experiencing illness.
Some organisms may be present without causing symptoms, while others may warrant
additional evaluation depending on your pet's overall health, medical history, and clinical signs.
Your report provides educational context to help you better understand each finding.

Not Detected

A Not Detected result means the organism or health indicator was not identified in the sample that was tested.

No laboratory test can guarantee the complete absence of every organism. A Not Detected result indicates that the organism or health indicator was not identified in the submitted sample at the time it was analyzed.

Baseline

Just like people, every pet has a unique biological profile.

Testing while your pet appears healthy helps establish a baseline, a personalized snapshot of their health today. Future testing can then be compared against this baseline to help identify meaningful changes over time.

Many pet parents choose to test proactively, before symptoms appear, to better understand what is normal for their pet.

Suggested Next Steps

Every Petwealth report includes educational information based on your results.

Depending on your findings, your report may suggest:

Monitoring your pet for changes.

Results are delivered securely through your Petwealth dashboard. You’ll receive an email when results are ready.

What if my pet receives a high-risk result?

If a significant health concern is identified, your report will explain what was detected, why it matters, and recommended next steps. We strongly encourage discussing high-risk findings with your veterinarian.

Will Petwealth tell me exactly what treatment my pet needs?

Petwealth provides educational guidance and evidence-based recommendations. Treatment decisions should always be made with your veterinarian.

What pathogens does Petwealth test for?

Depending on the panel, Petwealth screens for pathogens associated with:

Gastrointestinal health
Oral health
Respiratory health

Examples include Giardia, Salmonella, Bordetella, Canine Influenza, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Clostridium species, Campylobacter species, and many others.

Are Petwealth results accurate?

Petwealth uses PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), one of the most sensitive and widely trusted diagnostic technologies used in human and veterinary medicine.

Can my veterinarian use my Petwealth results?

Yes. Results can be downloaded and shared with your veterinarian.

What if my pet seems healthy but receives a concerning result?

Many conditions develop before symptoms become obvious. Petwealth is designed to identify potential issues early, helping you take action before they become more serious.

What happens after I get my results?

Your report doesn’t stop at detection. Petwealth provides personalized insights, recommended next steps, monitoring guidance, and information you can share with your veterinarian.

How do I place an order?

Ordering is simple. Choose the Petwealth test that's right for your pet, complete your purchase online, and we'll ship your kit directly to your door.

Can I purchase Petwealth kits without a veterinarian?

Yes. Petwealth kits are available directly to pet parents and do not require a veterinarian to purchase or use.

If your results identify a concern, we encourage you to share them with your veterinarian. If you don't currently have one, our partner Pawp can connect you with a licensed veterinary professional for guidance.

Which Petwealth test is right for my pet?

The right test depends on your pet's needs, whether you're investigating symptoms or taking a proactive approach to their health.

Oral Health Panel
Designed for pets with bad breath, plaque buildup, red or swollen gums, or for establishing a baseline and monitoring oral health over time.

Respiratory Health Panel
Recommended for coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, or after boarding, daycare, grooming, travel, or other exposure to other pets. It can also be used proactively to screen for certain respiratory pathogens before symptoms appear.

Fecal Health Panel
Ideal for digestive concerns such as diarrhea, vomiting, or changes in stool, as well as routine parasite screening. It can also identify certain gastrointestinal pathogens and health indicators before symptoms develop.

Petwealth Pack
Our most comprehensive option. It includes all three panels to provide a broader picture of your pet's oral, respiratory, and gastrointestinal health. It's the best choice for establishing a baseline and monitoring changes over time.

Many pet parents choose to test even when their pet appears healthy. Some pathogens and health indicators may be present before visible symptoms develop, making baseline testing a valuable part of proactive care.

Can I purchase more than one kit in the same order?

Yes. You can add multiple kits to your cart and adjust quantities during checkout.

Can I use one kit for multiple pets?

No. Each Petwealth kit is designed for one pet and one sample only. Combining samples from multiple pets may affect test accuracy and prevent reliable results.

Can I modify my order after checkout?

Orders begin processing quickly, so changes aren't always possible. If you need assistance, please contact us at support@petwealth.com as soon as possible. If your order hasn't been fulfilled, we'll do our best to help.

How will I know my order was successful?

Once your order is complete, you'll see a confirmation screen and receive a confirmation email with your order details.

Does Petwealth offer expedited shipping?

Can I update my shipping address?

If you entered an incorrect shipping address, please contact us immediately at support@petwealth.com. While we can't guarantee changes once an order has begun processing, we'll do our best to help.

Can I change or cancel my order after it's been placed?

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to make a change. Because orders are processed quickly, we may not be able to modify or cancel orders that have already been fulfilled.
